Surprised? Separate studies by Pew, Gartner, GfK NOP and Demopoulos Associates have come to similar conclusions: About 50% of web users are concerned about spam. The same percentage of users is aware of phishing and spyware. Among those in-the-know, how many have bothered trying to protect themselves? Very few.
