The centre focuses on open source issues specific to Asia, such as localization of software, open source for creating local content, and the use of open source to bridge the ‘digital divide’. AsiaOSC also has a ‘Wiki’ on open source. This is collaborative software allowing anyone to contribute web content, on anything related to open source and Asia. The wiki currently has 400+ pages.

The Asian Open Source Centre aims to encouraging networking between Asian free software and open source users. In particular, issues such as converting open source software to support non-latin fonts need to be worked on. The centre will also promote discussion of policy and licensing issues.”
