Ranch Networks and Digium are making the Asterisk open source PBX more secure.
New technology from Ranch Networks strengthens the security of SIP deployments by enabling the opening and closing of ports for voice traffic. Instructions are sent “to the firewall to open the ports on an as needed basis.” This in turn allows media streams to travel freely from phone to phone until the call is terminated, and the ports are closed.
