Waltham, Mass.-based Black Duck Software Inc. today introduced the industry’s first Internet-hosted, open source code validation software, called protexIP/OnDemand. The new service helps companies mitigate business risk by validating proper use of open source software within their intellectual property assets.
Protex IP/OnDemand is aimed at independent software vendors, outsourcers, and due diligence teams and enables companies to automatically analyze software projects to identify open source software and ensure that licensing obligations are met.
