Bloomberg: “For server computers, particularly those that power Web sites, little doubt exists that Linux has
arrived. In 2000, unit shipments of Linux on servers grew an estimated 24 percent from 1999,
making it the fastest-growing server operating system, according to the market research firm IDC.
The rate beat Microsoft’s Windows NT and Windows 2000, which grew 20 percent.” Nevertheless, Gartner analysts are still not on the bandwagon.
