Buffalo Technology Launches Its “Revolution” Product Line

The first product under the Revolution line is its flagship solution, Kuro Box – a customizable embedded Linux development kit that allows users to create a customized embedded Linux solution via a root access shell session. Kuro Box also allows users to install an internal IDE hard drive of any size. The strategically designed, compact form factor boasts a PowerPC 200MHz processor with 64MB of RAM and 4MB of ROM. Kuro Box includes a 10/100 Ethernet port and a single USB 2.0 port to allow connections to various network and USB devices. GPL Open Source is freely available for download along with an easy setup utility that prepares the hard drive of choice as a basic embedded Linux server. Users also have the option of quickly setting up a web-configurable secure NAS solution.
