What could have been a clash of the titans at the West Wales ICT Roadshow earlier this week turned out to be a down-to-earth discussion of the many factors that should go into choosing between open source and proprietary software.
Dave Overton, head of technology for small business at Microsoft UK, and Mark Taylor, CEO of open source consultancy, Sirius Corporation and executive director of the Open Source Consortium discussed the business drivers that should fuel the thinking behind any decision between open source and propriety software.
