The case for out-sourcing embedded database software

According to Graves, the use of off-the-shelf embedded software components — having gotten its start with embedded and real-time operating systems — is now expanding into ever-more areas of embedded software, including middleware and other complex software components such as protocol stacks, messaging, data management, and more.”
