Many fans of the Linux computer operating system exhibit a fervor bordering on religious. But even this church has its schisms.Linux often is held up as the shining achievement of the “open source” movement: Finnish whiz kid Linus Torvalds got the software rolling during 1991 and programmers around the world keep improving it free of charge, for anyone to use.
