Closing the Open Source door

Author: JT Smith

Observers.net: "AOL's use of the Linux operating system marks the company's introduction into the
world of open source technology. Until now, their success has largely come from a strict adherence to
using only propietary technology inside a closed online community.

This insistance by AOL on keeping outsiders out and insiders in caused concern in the
open source community when AOL bought Netscape in 1998."
