Compaq faces suits on warranty policy

Dallas News reports that Compaq is facing a pair of “lawsuits alleging that Compaq Computer Corp.’s warranty practices are fraudulent were filed against the Houston company on Monday. Lawyers for the plaintiffs say Compaq illegally requires consumers to sign release forms prohibiting them from disclosing when they’ve received a refund or replacement under a one-year express warranty.”
