Philipp Esselbach writes “The CompatDB.org project has been launched today. CompatDB.org is an attempt to create a free open source licensed (LGPL) standard for user submitted compatibility lists as well free compatibility lists. The initial data based on the LGPL’d compatibility data from the NT Compatible, Linux Compatible, and Mac OS Compatible websites.

The compatibility lists itself are currently released on a daily basis in it’s own CompatDB.org 1.0 XML document format and can be obtained from the mirrors. A documentation how to implement CompatDB.org is available at http://www.compatdb.org/faq-96.html
