Cryptography regulations threaten OSS in SA

Guest writes "South Africa's new ECT Act attempts to regulate cryptography providers by requiring them to register with the government. This appears to be in complete conflict with the open source ethos of freedom to use, download, distribute, mirror and modify software which may include cryptographic functionality, writes Morgan Collett."
