Desktop Linux ‘not cost-effective for small firms’

Small companies which make the switch to Linux on the desktop are unlikely to realise any cost savings, a study by a German research firm claims.

Soeren Research issued the finding as part of an update of a study which was issued earlier this year.

Soeren found that the cost advantage in the case of open source desktop systems could be realised only in large companies or those which were active globally.
