Devaluing the Product - Sony CDs Can Hurt Industry
Anonymous Reader writes "Sony's CD scandal may do considerable collateral damage to the record industry as a whole as now consumers have reason to fear the disks. The DRM on Sony's latest CDs are a hacker's dream as they install a covert rootkit onto a PC that not only opens the system up to malevolent exploits, but kills the PC if a user tries to uninstall it. If people can't trust the records they buy to be safe who's going to buy them?"
