NTT DoCoMo, the Japanese telecom service provider, has invested $3 million in MontaVista Software, a developer of Linux-based mobile middleware. DoCoMo recently signed agreements with NEC and Panasonic to provide smartphone handsets based on MontaVista’s operating system.
