Slashdot has an item saying the U.S. Department of Justice is asking for a dimissal of the case where a Princeton professor is suing it and the SDMI for trying to silence his research by using the DMCA. The DOJ doesn’t think the case presents significant First Amendment issues, apparently. The DOJ memorandum is at EFF.org (in PDF format).
