eCosCentric announces CEE-J(TM) for eCosPro(R)

Daniel Morris writes "N?NBERG, GERMANY -- February 23, 2005 -- eCosCentric Limited, the eCos and RedBoot experts, today announced the availability of an eCosCentric certified port of the CEE-J Virtual Machine from Skelmir, LLC to eCosCentric's range of eCosPro? Developer's Kits.

CEE-J is a clean room, low-footprint virtual machine incorporating optimised graphics support for hosting a variety of Java(TM) applications including MHP, OCAP, OSGi, IP Middleware and browsers.

CEE-J enables organisations to further leverage their investment in their existing Java applications by migrating to a commercial-grade distribution of the high performance, low footprint and feature rich eCos RTOS. "With the growing adoption of eCosPro in commercial applications such as building automation, industrial control and consumer devices, organisations are looking for mature and robust middelware solutions to bring their designs quickly to market." said Daniel Morris, Sales & Marketing Director at eCosCentric.

CEE-J provides a high degree of technical and commercial flexibility in a market-proven solution enabling eCosPro users to develop and deploy rich applications and middleware without sacrificing system resources or low cost.

"The combination of its advanced graphics, high performance and low memory footprint makes CEE-J an ideal companion technology to the eCosPro product family to deliver competitive embedded solutions to our customers for executing Java applications." Said Graham Nice, VP Business Development, EMEA at Skelmir.

CEE-J is the latest third party solution to be certified with eCosPro, initially targeting the ARM & IA32 processor families. CEE-J has been deployed in many millions of units around the world, predominantly in the media rich iDTV and STB markets.
