Egenera to debut high-end Linux server

CNET News.com reports that Egenera will debut its new high-end Linux server next week. Dubbed the BladeFrame, the 7-foot-tall highrise system can hold up to 24 individual servers, each running in a two- or four-processor configuration. The first modesl will use Pentium III or III-M chips running at 1 or 1.2GHz, and later models will ship with 2GHz Xeon chips. Pricing starts at $250,000; the company plans to show off its first BladeFrame system on September 11.
