Anonymous Reader writes “Emic Networks, provider of clustering for MySQL databases and Apache Web servers, on Monday announced it has changed its name; is opening up its product line to cluster PostgreSQL, Microsoft Corp.’s SQL Server, Sybase Inc. and Oracle Corp. databases; and has gotten a fat injection of cash to pump it all out.
The company has been dubbed Continuent, a name that CEO Eero Teerikorpi said is meant to imply the notion of continuous enterprise.”
