HP Integrity Servers for Large-Scale Transportation System
MANSFIELD, Mass., September 27, 2005—Verano announced today that its leading Real-Time Application Platform (RTAP) is now available on HP Integrity servers featuring the Intel Itanium 2 processor. RTAP is a SCADA software solution that manages the operations of large, mission-critical industrial infrastructure, such as Enbridge Pipelines in Canada, RWE Thames Water in London, England and the Singapore Mass Rapid Transport.
Verano’s RTAP SCADA software is the first real-time management and monitoring software solution for industrial automation systems to become available on HP Integrity servers, a hardware platform specifically designed for high-availability, mission-critical computing applications.
Running on HP Integrity servers, RTAP offers control system operators fully-customizable, real-time automation and monitoring capabilities. Verano’s RTAP enables safe, secure and efficient operation of industrial facilities and management of performance information for financial and operational improvement – all on a hardware platform built for applications that demand the highest levels of availability, reliability and scalability. This combination can increase system uptime and provide continued operation of public infrastructure, such as water systems, transportation systems, oil and gas pipelines and power generation and distribution.

Emte Sistemas won the prestigious Barcelona Metro Line 9 main control room contract. At 43 kilometers and 47 subway stations, this will be the longest driverless metro line in Europe. In this system, Emte Sistemas is implementing an RTAP-based system to manage and integrate all electromechanical and communication systems (i.e., power, communications, platform doors, train variables, lifts and escalators) in the metro line.
