Facebook Releases Sonar Debugging Tool to the Open Source Community


Sonar was developed for and by Facebook engineers to help them manage the social network, including the implementation of new features, bug hunting, and performance optimization.

Now, Sonar is being released to the open source community in the hopes of giving programmers a tool for the acceleration of app development and deployment. … Made up of a desktop client and mobile SDK, Sonar can be used by developers to inspect app layouts — whether or not the apps were built with standard Android/iOS views or Litho/ComponentKit components — as well as inspect both logs and network traffic.
