While Bill Gates is being presented giant condoms in India, one of the poorest nations in the world is using the advantages of free and open source software and building a generation of computer professionals to rise above poverty without the noblesse oblige of anyone. There is now a Linux user group in Burkina Faso — and software written there is probably soon to follow.
