Foresight Exchange Releases Source Code
David Perry writes "The Foresight Exchange, the first and longest running Internet prediction market, has released the Idea Futures code to the open source community. For more than a decade, the market has tapped into "the wisdom of crowds" by offering speculation on a wide variety of interesting claims, such at a the space elevator, nuclear attack on the US, IE market share, SHA-1 collision, and numerous political elections. Not surprisingly, the claims on gas prices have received a lot of attention recently! From the article: "Releasing the code will encourage further innovation around prediction markets and empower more firms to use this emerging technology.""
