Free as in Debian -- GNU/Emacs Manual is considered non-free

linusrees writes "Debian Weekly News reports: "the GNU Emacs Manual will have to be moved to non-free, due to invariant sections and the use of the GNU FDL." This is because "Invariant sections don't allow modifications which are required by the Debian Free Software Guidelines."

The report then says: "This is very unfortunate, especially since it affects documentation from the Free Software Foundation.""
