FreeBSD Unix class in Fort Worth, Texas

is offering a FreeBSD system administration course, February 7 - 10,
2006, in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
The course will cover standard Unix and Linux administration skills
using the popular FreeBSD Unix operating system.

The training includes FreeBSD installation, using the FreeBSD ports
collection for installing third-party software, updating FreeBSD,
custom kernel configurations, understanding the rc.d startup scripts,
periodic tasks, mail services, and packet filtering.
The course will also cover cron, basic networking,
inetd, syslogging, and user and group administration.

The students will learn the basics of DNS using BIND, SMTP and Postfix,
and Apache, said Jeremy C. Reed, a Puget Sound Technology consultant
and member of the BSD Certification Group. And the students will setup
their own DNS primary and secondary zones and Apache-based virtual
websites.
