MozillaQuest Magazine reports: Mandrake Linux 9.1 is available on HP desktop PCs starting at $349. When Linux and MS Windows operating systems are pre-installed on new computers, Linux and Windows are on an even footing. The GNU/Linux OS with the KDE desktop suite is superior to MS-DOS-based and NT-based Windows desktop environments. HP’s announcement is good news for Mandrake, for Mandrake fans, for the Linux community, and for computer users in general. The more computer system vendors and OEMs that offer a pre-installed GNU/Linux operating system option the better.
