A growing number of companies and government agencies around the world are starting to deploy Linux and other open source applications. Many see open
source as a cost-effective alternative in addition to being reliable and secure.

In Malaysia, the open source movement is gaining momentum, says Patrick Siva, general manager of CSN Systems.
“Though we have no policies in place to support open source, the Government has identified it as a means of bridging the digital divide,” he says.
