From Advogato: “I’m currently running a Mozilla Bug Week to help new people get involved with working on the Mozilla code. The purpose of this article is both to plug it, and to discuss whether it’s possible to lower the barrier to entry to such a complex project, or whether I am doomed 🙂
My perception has for a long time been that the barrier to entry at the Mozilla project was too high. Mozilla is an extremely complex project, requiring 1.5Gb of space and multiple hours on a normal box to build a debug build, and our docs are pretty terrible.”
