Hewlett says Intel 64-bit chip ahead of schedule

Reuters via Yahoo: “Intel Corp.’s new chip for taking on high-end markets, called the Itanium, is moving in development faster than expected, partner Hewlett-Packard Co. said on Tuesday, explaining a change in its own strategy.”
