Holdouts put Microsoft's feet to Open-Source fire
Author: JT Smith
Kelly McNeill writes "The nine states that chose to hold out for a fairer proposal -- rather than sign the one offered by both Microsoft and the DOJ -- submitted their own settlement to the U.S. district judge, and it looks like they are putting Microsoft's feet to the open-source fire. Under the new proposed settlement, Microsoft would be required to offer a version of its operating system without all of the company's "middleware" products, such as Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player."
