We at NewsForge want to express our concern for those suffering from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, which struck the Gulf Coast on Monday. We would also like to thank those who are working so very hard to save lives and bring food, water, and shelter to those whose homes have been ravaged.
During these desperate days, please know that our thoughts and our prayers are with you.
We’re glad to report that the Open Source Software Institute — whose main offices are located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and at the Stennis Space Center — has notified the community that they are all safe and accounted for. We’d like to join OSSI in urging those in the open source community who can to make a donation to aid those less fortunate.
