How Linux could become the next killer desktop

"Say what you will, but most people will agree that Mac OS X has a killer GUI. While Linux proponents will decry the eye candy and OS 9 fanatics will cry that their favorite feature was left out or ruined in OS X, most people would agree that Aqua is a major step forward in creating an interactive desktop. Unfortunately, you can only run OSX on proprietary and relatively expensive hardware.

On the other hand, we have KDE and GNOME, which in themselves have done a great deal to make Linux more accessible to the common person."
