HP’s Linux Website “Re-Opens” for Business

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 31, 2002 — HP today unveiled its newly redesigned HP Linux web site, a one-stop shop for Linux customers and developers.The new site, located at www.hp.com/linux http://www.hp.com/linux, will serve as a central repository for all of HP’s Linux tools; information on HP’s Linux technology offerings, including servers, workstations, laptops, handhelds, software, printing and imaging, Internet infrastructure, security and services; case studies and upcoming events.

In addition to product data, the newly redesigned HP Linux site offers the highest quality of technical and business education services and expertise for IT professionals. Individuals can stay current with the latest Linux trends with the various related training classes and books available. The site will be used to keep customers and developers up-to-date on what HP is doing in the Linux community by showcasing recent news stories of interest, upcoming events and Linux case studies.

Based on valuable feedback from customers and partners, the enhanced site was redesigned to provide quick access for implementing and deploying their critical business solutions on Linux. The site provides details of Linux distributions supported, version numbers, development and deployment tools and partner solution offerings. The site also provides a user-friendly Linux installation guide, enabling new customers to get up and running with Linux faster and easier.

One key feature of the web site is the online HP ProLiant Server Matrix. The ProLiant Server Matrix consolidates Linux support information for all servers in the HP ProLiant family and provides links to downloads, documentation and server product information. The Server Matrix prevents customers from having to search through a multitude of web sites to find information and downloads needed to maximize the benefits of Linux on industry-standard HP ProLiant servers.
