An introduction to building sites with WebMake

Author: Ralph Krause

WebMake is a simple offline content
management system written in Perl that creates Web sites using
templates. It has features such as automatic site map creation, an
HTML cleaner, and the ability to execute embedded Perl. WebMake can be
used for large complex sites, but is simple enough to be
learned quickly.

It’s easy to maintain individual HTML files for small sites, but it’s
difficult to make the same changes — for page layouts and color schemes, for example — to all the files in large sites while keeping page URLs intact. For a site created with WebMake you can make the changes in just one file and apply them to all the pages.
