IT Investor’s Journal: Did Oracle understate its quarterly revenues?

The most interesting conspiracy theory to come out of Oracle’s Sept. 14 earnings call was that it understated its applications license business to make it appear that the database license business was stronger than it was. Interesting, but as the Lawson Software preannounce showed, the ERP (enterprise resource planning) business stinks — unless you’re SAP, and you have ways to hang your customers up by the ankles and shake.
