Jabber.com aims to set standard for businesses to talk 'real time'

Author: JT Smith

The Rocky Mountain News has a story about the Jabber instant message project. It's kind of a basic intro to Jabber story. "With Jabber, an instant-messaging account is created on a server using what is called XML
architecture as the base. A customer can connect to the server to send or receive
messages virtually instantaneously ('real time'). The Jabber server also translates
proprietary protocols such as the ones AOL, Microsoft and Yahoo! use so that messages
can be sent across various network systems."
