Knoppix as an MSBlaster work-around
holtocow writes "For those frustrating situations where you can't keep your machine up long enough to get online and download a fix because of malicious app such as the recent MSBlaster worm, why not do what Dean Peters suggests and keep a copy of Knoppix duct-taped to the side of your computer? This Linux-based solution boots entirely from the CD and includes all the tools you need to get online and download appropriate patches. It can also be used for similar situations when your operating system conspired to lock you out of your own data."
