An anonymous coward writes “We all know about LindowsOS. Like it or not, it’s probably going to be with us for some time to come. One of the biggest problems with LindowsOS is the fact that the vendor attempts ‘brand lock-in’ by renaming popular Linux software and placing it in it’s proprietary software distribution mechanism known as ‘Click-N-Run‘. Other than traditional channels, is there a way for an every day user to get programs easily?”
