Linux and Hyper-Threading

Geoff Simmons writes “2CPU.com has posted an article detailing Hyper-Threading performance in Linux. They used Gentoo and Linux kernel 2.6.2 for their testing. The hardware used in the testing was rather high-end including 3.2GHz Xeons, a 3.2GHz P4 and a 3.2GHz P4 Prescott. They ran server-oriented benchmarks like Apache, MySQL and they even tested Java server performance. The results were more than interesting. It’s worth the read.”
