LinuxRadio is a voice for those who support or are looking to find information on
the Open Source Movement with the Linux OS. LinuxRadio is a main stream
internet station that provides a forum for the Open Source community to provide
the masses with the current news of Linux and the Open Source Movement.
Whether your favorite distro is Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSe, Caldera, Slackware, or
one of the many other flavors of the penguin OS, LinuxRadio is here to cover it
along with playing the finest of “Open Source Variety” of music. LinuxRadio is
operated by former and current broadcasters with a combination of a total of over
40 years of radio and television experience.

Features

You can hear news about Linux and Open Source at the top of each hour and
features are presented at the bottom of the hour. As the station becomes more
established, we will be adding additional programming elements such as special
reports and tips.

Music

LinuxRadio will be playing a musical format we call “Open Source Variety”. What
is Open Source Variety you ask? It is music that is created and performed by
artists who could be termed, “Open Source”. They are artists who are not
mainstream, but go their own way. If you are a musician and hold the copyright or
performance rights and would like to have your music auditioned for airplay, send
it to music@linuxradio.info. We will be happy to give it a listen. Like Open Source,
we need your input!

Do you want to be a part of Linux Radio?

If you would like to be a part of and want to contribute to LinuxRadio with features,
news, voice work or something completely different, you can drop us an email at
suggestions@linuxradio.info or if you have Linux or Open Source news for the
masses you can email it to news@linuxradio.info.

Testing

We are doing some testing of the streaming software, so you may be able to catch
us testing. You may hear any kind of music and other test announcements. We will
not be running a regular format during this testing phase, but as we get closer to
January 1, 2002, elements of the final product will be working its way into the
format.
