On the heels of a successful release to the Linux and FOSS community last week, The Linux Business Directory http://www.thelinuxbusinessdirectory.com is proud to make available to its members a community blog and a member events calendar.

The community Blog is being made available to all members of the directory who want to have a voice to the rest of the community and anyone subscribing to our RSS feeds. This is a great resource for small (SMB) businesses and proprietors to have an active voice in the Linux and FOSS communities. The blog is available for anyone to view and is available for posting by our members. Membership to join The Linux Business Directory is free and it’s also free to list your company in the directory of companies and over 350 categories.

Our new public calendar of events is also being made available to our members for posting and is also viewable by anyone. This aims at being a great way to make your public events made known to the rest of the community and anyone else browsing the calendar. The calendar will be filled in the upcoming days and weeks with some of the more popular Linux and FOSS events such as Linux World San Francisco. Our members can post their own corporate events and functions for free and invite other members of the community to join and attend.

Some other features recently added to The Linux Business Directory include improved site navigation and layout, a new home page showing the Announcements blog for fresh, updated content daily, over 200 new categories for businesses to classify themselves in including coverage of all U.S. states and capitals as well as all European countries and capitals. We’ve also expanded our hardware categories and have added more major distributions of Linux.

We look forward to updating the Directory in the upcoming weeks with more and more content and features for our members and guests.

The Linux Business Directory is the first site of its kind to further the goal of “Bringing Business to Linux” by attempting to bring together customers and vendors to the same table in an open and publicly monitored arena. The directory is looking for gain the membership of as many SMB companies from all around the world and to be able to invite potential customers to visit and post their questions, concerns, and issues concerning the high-level, organizational and logistical issues regarding Linux and FOSS Software.
