Linux Grows Up
When a child reaches maturity, you expect him or her to start driving a car, paying attention to the opposite sex, and getting into unexpected trouble. For the open-source Linux platform, maturity comes in the form of the ability to drive complex operations in the enterprise, seeing big-time vendors start paying attention to it, getting into some legal scrapes. The grown-up operating system had its confirmation party recently in San Francisco, at LinuxWorld, where the faithful gathered to celebrate its technological adulthood.
