Artesyn Communication Products has adopted the TimeSys Linux RTOS for use as a software platform on Artesyn’s family of PowerPC-based CompactPCI
Packet Switched Backplane (cPSB) telecom boards, according to a statement released by the companies earlier this week. The software/hardware combo
will create a carrier-grade real-time for wireless and wireline WAN infrastructure applications such as WAN access, SS7/SIGTRAN signaling and
gateways, softswitches, real-time control, and traffic processing, the companies said.
