Kelly McNeill writes “TeleData Technology said it is shipping the first commercially available voice-messaging application based entirely on the open-source Linux operating system. The enterprise version of the company’s RT3 product is going out before the end of the month, with a version for carriers expected in 60 to 90 days. The enterprise version will offer unified messaging over wired or mobile phones for considerably less than the current market cost, TeleData president Larry Chiagouris told Wireless NewsFactor. The carrier version will allow service operators to offer it.”
