The Department of Taxation under the Ministry of Finance (MOF) is continuing to promote the expansion of its Internet filing program this year. This is the first year that Linux and Mac users are able to make use of the online tax filing service, which used to work exclusively with computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system. The MOF wants to increase the number of tax returns filed online to 1.5 million this year, which would be a 50-percent increase over 2004.
