Manulife Financial Invests in the SCO Group

Chuck Talk writes “Manulife Financial has purchased SCO Group stock, along with Bjurman, Barry and Associates. These recent acquirers were only noticed at the Money Central website at MSN, but that could explain a lot of the investment dealings of BayStar Capital and RBC Dominion Securities. It is surmised that there have been monies being floated from Canadian investors to avoid the scutinry of the United States SEC and the U.S. media.

Well, if that was the case, somebody funbled the ball or didn’t get the information out to the MSN Money board. MSN has closed the SCO Group message board, removing the information that people were posting there from public view. In fact, the last message I received from that board was from gnutechguy on October 11th, 2003. It was a short and simple message stating:

“Why is the SCOX Moneycentral site being declared “inactive?”

Is it because Microsoft has a vested interest in the SCO Group’s illegal activities such as stealing GPL code and making false claims for profit?”

After that, I have not seen anymore posts from that group.”
