The State of Massachusetts may have stepped up the pressure on Microsoft to support the OpenDocument file formats by announcing plans to reject Office in favor of OpenDocument-based applications, but it remains to be seen what impact the plan will have on the software giant. Massachusetts plans to move to OpenDocument 1.0 as the standard for all office documents by January 2007, following the specification’s formal adoption by the Oasis standards group in
