Microsoft faces massive EU fine

The European Commission says that Microsoft lied to investigators and tried to obstruct the antitrust case, and the commission wants Microsoft to pay dearly for its transgressions. The European Union’s executive body is expected to demand that the company drop certain features from its Windows operating system, and has the authority to impose a fine as much of 10 percent of Microsoft’s annual revenue — about $2.5 billion.
