Microsoft, the innovation puppetmaster
Author: JT Smith
Kelly McNeill writes: "While most people agree that the freedom to innovate should be available to everyone, they often miss one important fact: It's almost impossible to innovate without money. Microsoft executives claim to be a force for change and an engine of innovation, but Microsoft's version of a so-called "free market" ignores the fact that in order to stay in business and make the company's innovations available to the public, competitors must be able to make a reasonable profit on their activities."
